Pale Waves

FOR fans of the likes of Peace, Swim Deep and HAIM, Pale Waves are from a similar strain of indie pop, with jangly guitars and echoey verses that keep you bobbing your head.

Moody and adorating teenage life, Manchester quartet, Pale Waves douse themselves in lashings of glitter and reverb (as stated in their Facebook bio).

With only two tracks released, this foursome have already encapsulated their own unique sound, possessing delicate vocals wrapped around neatly picked guitar lines and bounding rhythms.

Their debut single, The Tide, is dreamy and totally infectious, summed up in its catchy, sing-along chorus. Follow up track, Heavenly, echoes the cool, Hawaiian beach vibe of their first effort. Riddled with another killer chorus, it shows Pale Waves have a real eye for a good hook - can't help feeling they have been recovered from a funky and playful time capsule of the 90’s.

In the spirit of true D.I.Y, they made a number of handmade EPs consisting of both tracks, each one coming in a hand-painted sleeve by the members themselves, along with a thank you note and a necklace with Pale Waves in beads strung on to it. Just another reason why we should all be riding this wave.
