Dan Wilson

WITH debut solo album, All Love is Blind set to to drop on 4th September, courtesy of Halfpenny Records, local artisan, Dan Wilson is revisiting paths in which artists such as Nick Cave and Johnny Cash have trod to create a special blend of folk and original blues.

Whilst The Cubical front-man has been busy working on this album, it has been reported that the Liverpool quintet are set to release their fourth studio album within the new year.

Embracing a tasteful fusion of all things mellow, this album has provided Wilson the chance to delve deeper within his musical roots, working with producer, Keith Thompson to produce a raw and heartfelt piece of fine art.

Title track, All Love is Blind possesses a hollow nest of heavenly vibrations, beautifully pieced together by Wilson's deep, foreboding vocalism which is reminiscent of old sea shanty's of an era gone by.

The warm, wholesome tone which frames the track is habitually mocked by the sadness in the lyricism, acting to almost  catch the listener off guard, teaching a meaningful lesson. The sombre track offers more comfort than intended, this aided by the blissful harmonies and string selection which has been so effortlessly placed to create a delicate tale of the true emptiness of love.
