Bring your guitar and say final farewell to View Two Gallery on Mathew Street

Liverpool Acoustic
INDEPENDENT venue View Two Gallery on Mathew Street is closing its doors for the last time on Saturday (June 24) and to celebrate the years promoters Liverpool Acoustic are inviting everyone to the 'Final Viewing'.

It was 17 years ago when the View Gallery moved from Gostins building to Mathew Street, and was reborn as the View Two.

Since then the hidden gem at the heart of the Cavern Quarter has played host to art exhibitions, plays, poetry readings, the Above the Beaten Track music festival, the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge, and many live music nights.

Liverpool Acoustic's Graham Holland said: "The View Two Gallery has been home to Liverpool Acoustic Live since we started in February 2009, but all good things must come to an end.

"However, we couldn't let the place go without inviting all our friends to experience one last climb up three flights of stairs, one more browse of the fantastic artwork, and one final performance on the grand piano."

The gallery opens at 12pm
and from 1pm to 5pm there will be live music from special guests John Jenkins, David Neville King, Derek King, Three Minute Hero and the Southbound Attic Band.

There will also be plenty of open mic places for people to come along and play a few songs and for anyone to share their memories of the View Two from across the years.

The gallery opens for the evening session at 7.30pm, with more open mic and memory-sharing slots, plus special performances from Science of the Lamps as part of their UK tour, and long-time View Two Gallery favourites Rob Jones & Rob White.
