The Libertines' new hotel The Albion Rooms takes shape in Margate

AFTER being handed the keys in September 2017, The Libertines have revealed the name of their new hotel/studio in Margate - The Albion Rooms.

Planning permission for the five storey, ten room Victorian building, which overlooks the famous bandstand, was granted last year and the studio is set for completion next month.

Inspired by the co-habitation antics of The Beatles and The Monkees - Carl, Gary, John and Peter had been looking for a creative home; a living art space, a Warholian factory, with guest rooms, a bar and studio.

Plans for the bar are now underway where lucky or unlucky fans may have a member of the band pull them a pint.

Individually designed guest rooms with a distinctly Libertines’ style will open fully after the recording of the new album.

Already making themselves at home, the band are in the process of writing their fourth studio album, due for release in the summer, and will be inviting fans to become a part of the creative process.

The Libertines have also launched a new web platform at thelibertines.com which includes exclusive content charting progress of The Albion Rooms, recording sessions and glimpses of day to day life - think 'Down and Out in Paris And London' via a pie and mash shop on Margate prom.

The new website will also offer a new and classic Libertines merchandise range, and opportunities for fans to become patrons of their new arthouse.
