Punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke announces Liverpool date

BRITAIN'S best loved punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke has added a Liverpool date to his UK headline tour.

The spoken word genius will be heading to Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall on February 22, 2019.

Due to high demand, the legend will be heading out on the road in November to mark his first collection of poetry in nearly 40 years - 'The Luckiest Guy Alive'.

Out on November 1, John will perform his new material along with hardened classics and not to mention his hilarious on the spot observations and off the wall chat.

He will also be joined by special guest Simon Day who will be performing as Yorkshire poet Geoffrey Allerton.

In recent times John's 'I Wanna Be Yours' was covered by Arctic Monkeys and even featured on their critically acclaimed fifth studio album 'AM'.

Rapper Plan B also featured his poetry in his directional film debut 'Ill Manors'.

As well as regular television appearances on the likes of  Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Would I Lie To You,  John also hosts 6 Music shows and his own BBC Radio 4 show 'John Cooper Clarke Live at the BBC.'

Tickets for Liverpool Philharmonic are on sale from 10am on Thursday, September 13 and will be available from www.gigsandtours.com
