Michael Chapman heads to Liverpool with special guest Nick Ellis

ONE of the UK's best known finger picking style guitar players Michael Chapman is heading to Liverpool this week.

First making his name on the London and Cornish folk circuits in mid-1966, Chapman signed to EMI's Harvest Label and recorded classic albums such as Rainmaker, Wrecked Again and Fully Qualified Survivor.

He will be heading to the beautiful St Bride's Church on Percy Street on Saturday, October 5 for a night presented by Nothingville and Mellowtone Records.

Joining Chapman will be Liverpool's own Nick Ellis.

Troubador Ellis is known for blending streetscape narrative-noir with a classic British acoustic approach.

His third album, Speakers' Corner was released on October 6 and follows on from Adult Fiction and Daylight Ghosts.

Speakers' Corner very much captures the mutual consensus of the majority of the public in Britain today.

Faced with uncertain political waters, constant threat of violence, gender imbalance and human neglect, right now the country is in a state of duress, yet, Ellis manages to capture this feeling in just 12 tracks.
