Clean Cut Kid

GET yourself your dose of vitamin C by swallowing one of Liverpool's finest, Clean Cut Kid. The quartet began back in 2012, playing a number of shows around the city just trying to get heard, the persistence soon paid off with the band being snapped up by Polydor Records.

Latest single, Vitamin C has already gained support from Radio 1 DJs such as Phil Taggart, Annie Mac and Huw Stephens - not to mention a tasty spot on the Spotify top 10 Viral Chart.

Introducing the track with a trembling vibration of guitar chords prepares us for a joint harmonium from Mike and Evelyn Halls, reminiscent of that dreamy Lucy Rose and Bombay Bicycle club combination.

A gutsy beat is hushed by the ever loudening fuzz beckoning from the very bottom of each agile flick of the tongue. Matched with the lyricism so punchy and vivacious. The accompanying video follows the track with a fine-toothed comb, pulling out authentic twists and turns, allowing us to believe the rawness which is almost overlooked by the magnificent production work in the studio.

Evidently, Clean Cut Kid have developed into artists worthy of placement on Liverpool's musical hall of fame. With an album speculated for a release next year and a homecoming show on 29th July at The Shipping Forecast, the future is bright for this foursome, keep your eyes peeled.
