Ethan & The Reformation

THE northern hemisphere has developed a brand of hearty psychedelia of late, boasting a local tonality like no other, complimenting a deep seated roots of rock'n'roll heritage.

Manchester fivesome, Ethan & The Reformation have concocted just this, using Sitari based sounds to captivate listening from the onset.

First finding each other at Wonderwall Festival, Flensburg, front-man Ethan Davies and guitarist Mick Mac's partnership was completely down to fate - another chance meeting at Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia sparked a plan to jam together back in their hometown of Manchester.

A matter of days passed and Ethan & The Reformation were formed, rapidly taking to gigging, headlining Night and Day to supporting Cupids at The Deaf Institute, success from this friendship saw them hit the road once more for a European tour.

Latest track, Free From Everything, has a sound derived from Sgt. Peppers, with nods to The Doors -almost cliche but highly regarded in the North nonetheless.

A more far-out Eastern sound has been evoked, making Free From Everything stand out from previous artists gone-by. With synths peaking, mimicking a bird-like imagery and beats encompassing the hum of meditation, it'll be interesting to find out how much more experimental Ethan & The Reformation are willing to go.
