The resurrection: Edgar Jones and The New Joneses reveals LP The Song of Day and Night


CULT-hero Edgar Jones is set to make his long awaited return with a fresh new record, The Song of Day and Night.

Released on Friday April 14 on Skeleton Key the album is the first of new material in five years and follows on from the re-release of his solo album, Soothing Music For Stray Cats on limited edition vinyl via Mellowtone.

Now under the new alias Edgar Jones and the New Joneses he will embark on a joint headline tour with fellow Skeleton Key band - The Sundowners.

Drawing from his love of soul music this record see's Edgar delve deeper than ever before into the genre.

Taking references from the likes of Frankie Valli taster single, Best Thing is a monster sixties track with a backing Lee Hazlewood would be proud of.

This wholesome feast of Edgar's burgeoning vocals and a mono-style echo offers an exciting take on what could be the resurrection of Edgar Jones.

Kooky keys add a psychedelic twist to this masterpiece perfectly summed up with a surreal take on some of Liverpool's famous monuments:
