LIVERPOOL promoters Mellowtone will make their debut at new music hub 81 Renshaw Street by hosting an evening of rare performances.

Tymon Dogg of The Clash and The Mescaleros, Mike Badger from The La’s/The Onset and Hogie will appear at the cool urban space on Friday, October 6.

Originally from Merseyside Tymon Dogg had already signed recording contracts with Pye and Apple before meeting Joe Strummer while squatting in Westbourne Grove, London in the early 1970’s.

He went on to perform with The Clash contributing his song ‘Lose This Skin’ to the classic album Sandinista!, and also adding his talents to Combat Rock.

Tymon was also in The Mescaleros when Joe Strummer met his untimely death in 2002.

He has also released many self-penned albums addressing the trials and tribulations of modern day living, armed with his fiddle and his unique voice.

Mike Badger co-founded The La’s alongside Lee Mavers in 1983 before going on to perform with alt-country rockabilly pioneers The Onset.

He co-founded the Viper Label in 1999, releasing Liverpool cult classics and lost American recordings. He is also the co-author of The Rhythm and The Tide (Liverpool University Press).

On the night he will perform a solo collection of hand picked songs from his repertoire that spans back three decades and for the first time in over thirty years he will be performing songs written during his time in The La’s.

Hogie - Tim Higgins - is a Warrington born singer-songwriter and visual artist, his music is inspired by his roots in the London punk scene of the early 1980’s and the American song book.

Tim's debut album River of Mercy is a tender reflection on his youth with tales of love, regret, salvation and redemption. There is grit in his voice and in the content of his songs.

This unprecedented lineup is one that’s not to be missed.

Tickets are £8.50 and are available from https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Liverpool/81-Renshaw-Street/TBC/13027684/
