Volunteers needed for Africa Oyé 2018

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help at this year's Africa Oyé at Sefton Park.

As one of the UK's largest free celebrations of African and Caribbean music and culture, Africa Oyé will return to Sefton Park from 12.30pm on June 16 and 17 for two free days of live music, DJs, dance, workshops, food stalls and traders.

Having grown from humble beginnings in 1992 as a series of gigs in the city centre, the event now attracts more than 50,000 people from all over the world.

Organisers are now searching for volunteers who can become an Oyé representative.

The role would include collecting donations, selling raffle tickets, having attendees complete questionnaires and distributing information about the festival.

Reps will be working during both days from 12pm to 9pm with the minimum shift being two hours long.

Oyé bosses are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and helpful people with an interest in culture, music and basic knowledge of the festival - although that is not essential.

If anyone is interested in becoming an Oyé Rep for 2018 please email your interest to africaoye@onefellswoop.co.uk
