UK No1's - Lauren's pick

Going through the UK's history of No.1 singles, I decided that I would pick my top twenty favourites just to see how many I agreed with! Going through pages of the internet trying to find the best of the bunch wasn't easy, especially when you have someone like me who decides to sing all the songs your eyes come across. Anyway, this is beside the point, without any further or due, here is my top twenty favourites, I have put them in order of the month and year that the singles became No.1. I couldn't possibly choose a specific favourite from Lennon to Frankie Goes to Hollywood, could I?

1. Elvis Presley - Jailhouse rock
January 1958

2. The Everly Brothers - Cathy's Clown
May 1960

3. The Animals - House of The Rising Sun
July 1964

4. The Kinks - You Really Got Me
September 1964

5. The Beatles - Help!
August 1965

6. The Rolling Stones - (I can't get no) Satisfaction
September 1965

7. Beach Boys - Good Vibrations
November 1966

8. The Monkees - I'm a believer
January 1967

9. Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through the Grapevine

10. T.Rex and Marc Bolan - Get it On

11. Harry Nilsson -Without You

12. Slade - Cum on Feel the Noize
March 1973

13. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

14.  Rod Stewart - I don't want to talk about it

15. Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall
December 1979

16. Blondie - Call Me

I recommend you listen to all these at least once, if you've already heard them, listen again, I was quite surprised some gems had made it into the no.1 spot over the years, must be good then, I hear you say...
