Last month quite rapidly became the highlight of Mure's career, welcoming the heavily awaited release of debut single, 'Not Alone'.
Already being heralded by many critics as somewhat of a musical prodigy, the single certainly had a lot to live up to.
Bringing us a slice of techno from the onset 'Not Alone' fumbles with a range of harmonious 'oohs', before rapidly presenting Mure's gutteral vocality, refreshingly tasteful a light-hearted instrumental begins to chime - the epitome of noughties indie-pop.
Chugging guitars and sultry beats pair up to create a rip-roaring storm intertwining amongst the severity of the tracks uplifting chorus and repetitive verses. We see inclinations of One Night Only, mixed with The Kooks and also Two Door Cinema Club, out of this, there is is a longevity of content, there's just something so ridiculously healthy about those soundings.
Many may have waited a while for this debut release yet we can't argue that it has happened at the right time - with a tour early next year and the promise of yet more material, we're going to be hearing a lot more from Matt Mure, keep your eyes peeled.
