Sound City Feature : Freddie Wells

FOLLOWING on from our first mammoth Sound City feature, writer, Freddie Wells sat down and told us who we should see at this years festival.

The Cribs // The Atlantic Stage // Sunday 24th

When it comes to acts, the name that gets me most excited is The Cribs; with the recent release of their 6th studio album ‘For All My Sisters’ and a back catalogue full of anthems such as 'You Were Always The One' and 'Men's Needs', their live performance is always hot, sweaty - always provoking a jump about.

Peace // The Baltic Stage // Sunday 24th

Coming off the back of their extensive tour in support of their second album, ‘Happy People', Peace headline the Baltic Stage on Sunday. Having seen them a few times now, their live shows are vibrant and a lot of fun, with a hit-packed set and loads of style, Peace are an act you don’t want to miss out on.

Hooton Tennis Club // The Baltic Stage // Saturday 23rd

On Saturday local band, Hooton Tennis Club take to the Baltic Stage with their traditional yet quirky brand of rock n roll. Another hotly tipped prospect on Heavenly Recordings, go check out their debut single ‘Jasper’.

Blossoms // The Atlantic Stage // Sunday 24th

Also on Sunday we're offered Stockport’s Blossoms, who give a refreshing take on pop psychedelia. Having recently toured with Manchester giants such as The Courteeners and The Charlatans, they are band oozing with potential and style.
